A monthly speaker series starting this June! The hope we need for the ocean we love.
This months topic: Strength In Small Places: Why the Ocean’s Best Days Aren’t Behind Us
Save the date for an evening that kicks off a new wave of hope and optimism for our ocean’s future. We’re honored to welcome Dr. Rachel Carlson, Co-Director of the Berkeley Center for Ocean Futures, as our inaugural speaker for Ocean Hoptimism. Dr. Carlson leads the Coastal Climate Resilience lab as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley. Her talk will explore how local actions reduce climate stress, and how even in a time of immense change, hope is still very much alive and well for our ocean—and why that matters more than ever.
“Even in the face of global climate change, small places hold powerful potential. At the Berkeley Center for Ocean Futures, we connect science with grassroots actions, and we believe there's a role for everyone in this effort.”
—Dr. Rachel Carlson
The stakes couldn’t be higher. The ocean feeds us, protects us, breathes with us, and it needs our help. Our hope isn’t passive. It’s fuel for action. So get in the game with us. Raise a pint of Faction’s best with us. And help spark something real—because when community shows up, change starts rolling.
